Photoshop Layers and Compositing Tutorial - Vintage Photo Effect
I got frustrated when I wanted to attach a small shoe-mount exposure meter on my Bronica SQ-A and there was no accessory shoe on the camera. So I epoxied a cold shoe I salvaged from a junk hand grip onto the lens hood for 50mm lens. I am planning to make the same modification to other lens hoods, too, but for now I am using this rig for 80mm and 150mm lenses too.
Ure absolutely best😮😮😮amazing
Another great tutorial!!! Thanks, Ed!
Sorry if this seems flippant. But, could there be a Vermeer pattern? And, would that be a sub-category of the Rembrandt pattern? Sorry, I just prefer Vermeer over Rembrandt.
I’m sure there could be. It’s just a label someone came up with to describe the look. There’s also a “loop” lighting pattern you might look up.
Really useful. Thanks Ed.
Thanks! Most straight forward video, easy to understand and no catch on asking to sign up etc. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you very much. Will definately share this
Thanks Ed, we need more videos
For those of us with C/S/S2 Bronica focusing issues, the most likely cause is the foam for your focusing screen has up and died, and the springs are pushing it out of registration. The fix is to remove the ground glass, clean off the old foam with a solvent, and then apply fresh light seal foam (I've read of folks using other materials, YMMV) and reassemble. Be sure to not lose any parts like the shims that like to scurry off and be mindful of the screen's orientation when disassembling (hint: glossy side up). Best of luck.
Finally got the Godox TT685 and the (new version) Godox X2T controller to work together on my Sony A7iii. Had to set an ID on both and it now works. Thanks for the walkthrough. Can't wait to use off-camera flash at long last for lighting megalithic tombs here in Ireland.
Thank you Ed for the helpful and informative video! Good luck!
Excellent Video. I admire those shooting with film. (A few years ago, I had a rather large collection of film Cameras, including a Minolta I had purchased in the 1980's. I really never became very good with film. After I purchased a couple Digitals. The Bride bugged me about all the old Camera's & Film lying around. One day in a Spirit of cleaning up I rounded up all that film & gear. Took it up to the one small Camera Store in our little town, and gave to the owner Jim. Now I have a tad of reservations that I did not hang on to some of that film gear!!!
It's not the camera, it's the pictures that get expensive. About 2 EUR for one single image is quite a lot of money.
Great tutor
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Flash photography has been quite a challenge for me and these videos help a great deal! I have a question tho and I hope it's not a stupid one but, how can I expose appropriately when the flash is mounted on my camera? Idk if I'm missing something but on the screen, nothing seems to change when I change shutter speed or aperture. What I do is, I turn off the flash, then expose my bg correctly, when I just shoot a few times to propperly expose my subject. It's basically a hit and miss when I set it up for the first time, but I was just wondering if there's a setting I'm missing so I won't have to turn off my flash or trigger every time. Thanks in advance!
Excellent explanation, fantastic video!
always ttl and adhust the power with the exposure compensation botton is way way faster. I hate the commands on the flash…I have to move my hands away from the camera and it’s not safe and the process is not as contonuous like handholding continuously the camera
Ed, the music volume is distracting.
It is. More recent videos have addressed this.
Thanks for sharing 😉
Thank You for this Video Mr Verosky. In My 80's as You know, a late bloomer in Portrait Photography. While I don't take images as a Professional, I enjoy taking images of Family & Friends. Learning is one of the things that has big attraction to me. I get a lot of satisfaction in learning, looking at images in the past Vs current ones, and seeing that in fact I have improved. And often have been told some of My Portrait images appear taken by a Professional Photographer. You Video's have been a large part of my learning, has given me the confidence to invest in a home studio, and equipment. I encourage others to view your Video's, Purchase Your teaching Video's, etc. Thank You for your contribution to Photography, and personally to my improvements & enjoyment there of.
Nice result 😊
Would you do a shoot in a florescent lighting situation with flash
Thank you dear Sir, this has been so helpful !
Bravo, that was a great review in a nice short video!
Thank you for your teaching, I do remember when I didn’t have a computer and when to the library to look at your videos, I believe that you are amazing teacher
The ease of portability is a moot point now as Glow and many other companies have strip boxes that take a minute or two (or less) tops to set up and most take seconds to break down . Rod assembly modifiers be damned lol. Great vid.
Excellent content
Why you made this video, now is 230 usd one... half the price of a mint camera....old mode for my sq :(
Wowww, nothing can go wrong anymore.
If you follos his advise nothing will go wrong. You have a question ask it.
Would love to see a flash photography course for sports
I bought one with $24 6 years ago, with a cheap price and when you have the right focus point, the picture quality is so good
Thank you.❤
Drat, you never mentioned how to sync the transmitter to your yongnuo 560iii flash with the built in receiver . Still it’s a good starter and lets me know I can do it 😁👍
I can TOTALLY relate to fighting with glasses! So frustrating! It sucks getting older.
Is two speedlight enough to lighten the sides of the model when using with 800W strobe in octabox?
Thank you 😊
So, you’re presenting a boom arm video with a speedlight? For you photographers out there… if you’re using a speedlight … tape it to a paint stick and don’t buy a boom arm.
I found a really old Stroboframe that has a little mechanism on it to rotate the camera without rotating the bracket. I'm going to try it out this year at Fanime; I usually do without a flash but Foveon demands better lighting.
Wow, this was the most comprehensive and succinct explanation of lighting in photography that I've come across. I've been reading Light Science Magic and this really summed it up clearly in 3 minutes. many thanks
Woow
Had to give it a like for getting photo of the photographer
Ed, Thank you! Fantastic course so far! Definitely subscribed.
This was really helpful for understanding what causes digital noise and how to minimize it. The tips on checking exposures and histograms, shooting RAW, and using flash make a lot of sense. Definitely some useful things for beginners! Thanks for the informative video!
This video was very helpful in me understanding how how soft light works.
Great tips. thank you
I'm curious what light stand you are using. Since that setup is slightly heavy
